Timeline Information/Final

Our final timeline:



From our research that each member of the group completed individually, we decided that a few events from each of our years would be suitable for our timeline.

From my research, I have decided on the following information & events to put into the timeline;


1st May – The breakfast cereal Cheerios is introduced as CheeriOats by General Mills.

27th March – Attack on Pearl Harbor

31st July –  Holocaust: Under instructions from Adolf Hitler, Nazi official Hermann Göring orders S.S. General Reinhard Heydrich to “submit to me as soon as possible a general plan of the administrative material and financial measures necessary for carrying out the desired Final Solution of the Jewish question.

Pablo Picasso painting – Dora Maar au Chat (Dora Maar with Cat) It depicts Dora Maar, the painter’s lover, seated on a chair with a small cat perched on her shoulders. This work is one of the world’s most expensive paintings.


18th April – Holocaust: the Nazi German extermination camp Sobibor opens in occupied Poland on the outskirts of the town of Sobibór. Between April 1942 and October 1943, at least 160,000 people are killed in the camp.

12th June – On her 13th birthday, Anne Frank makes the first entry in her new diary.

8th August – Walt Disney‘s animated film, Bambi premieres in United Kingdom.

Salvador Dalí publishes his autobiography, The Secret Life of Salvador Dalí.


6th January – Terry Venables, English football manager

10th February – From February 10th to March 3rd – Mohandas Gandhi keeps a hunger strike to protest his imprisonment.

July 1st – Women’s Army Corps (WAC) converted to full status.

Wifredo Lam – The Jungle


5th January – The Daily Mail becomes the first transoceanic newspaper.

26th February – Shooting begins on the Nazi propaganda film, “The Fuhrer Gives a Village to the Jews” in Theresienstadt.

Jean Dubuffet – Burning Controversy after his first exhibition at the Galerie Rene Drouin, Paris.

September – Joshua Smith Won the Arcihibald prize with his portrait of Hon Sol Rosevear.


Our group decided to create our timeline on a website called www.timetoast.com, we decided on this website as it was simple & clear to use and we could put all of our information on there and it would be in order and clear to present.
